A just society through crime prevention

Welcome to the Australian Crime Prevention Council

The Australian Crime Prevention Council (“ACPC”) is a voluntary association of individuals, departments and organisations representing a wide cross section of interests and disciplines, including branches of the criminal justice system, courts, police, corrections, prisons, mental health services, criminology and ethnic minority groups.

The Council’s objectives include:

  • Assist and promote the prevention of crime
  • Encourage participation by citizens in the prevention of crime
  • Provide a forum for the free discussion of crime prevention issues
  • Develop awareness and better understanding of the problems of crime and methods properly available to prevent it.

Primarily, the Council sees itself as a facilitator – bringing people and organisations with similar goals together.
